How can energy and resources be utilized in an efficient, safe, and sustainable way? How can malignant tumors be more precisely visualized, characterized, and more effectively treated? How do matter and materials behave under the influence of strong fields and in smallest dimensions?
Together with universities and research centers from all over the world, the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) strives to come up with answers to these questions. It operates several large-scale research facilities , which are used regularly by German and international guest researchers. By actively applying its research findings, the HZDR is making a valuable contribution to the future of our economy and society. It has approx. 1000 employees based at the main campus in Dresden as well as in Leipzig, Freiberg, and Grenoble.
